Rewarding Career Without Debt Series, Part 1

This month I will be publishing a series of posts on the topic of creating a rewarding career without debt. I feel we have to start this discussion by addressing the fact that not every individual needs a college degree to have a meaningful and lucrative career. We need to stop using education as a status symbol and be more practical and business-like in our approach.

Parents, help your children consider: *Their strengths *Their interests *What kind of work doesn’t feel like work- as in time passes quickly when they’re doing it. Be open to the idea that there are many different paths to a rewarding (and lucrative) career: trade schools, the military, volunteering, community college, entrepreneurship, apprenticeship or fellowship, and in some professions, a college degree.
